Colored plastic – myths and truths

To continue the topic of colored plastics I want to dispel the existing myths on this subject.

Myth 1

«In colored plastic form scraps of dough mass are visible better …»

 Dough mass has cream color, but plastic natural color is white – very good visibility also!

 Myth 2

 «The knife can make micro cuts of plastic, small pieces of plastic  can be visible better in dough piece… …»

 Yes, that is true, they are visible. But the length of the conveyor between the molding roller and the stove is very small and it is unlikely that all the plastic parts can be removed even if they are clearly visible. 

Besides, the temperature regime for this group of plastics is a long-term maximum temperature of 100°, a short-term maximum temperature is about 140 °. What will happen in the stove with additives present in the structure of plastic? All additives are quite toxic substances. But the regulatory requirement for admission operates with the parameter "contact time" with food products - but still ... while if the pieces pass along with the product to the stove ... 

In fact, why there is colored pigment in the structure of plastic? There are a lot of criteria, among which I will single out 2 main ones:

1. Stabilization of the structure and shape of the product from plastic in the process of mold pouring. After pouring into the "shaping window" during polymerization, the geometric and structure distortions are minimized by the volume of the filled plastic.
2. With the help of colorful pigment second class of plastic quality is hidden. 

So that, colored plastic is a variant of cost reduction for the producer. At the same time, note that if the marketing policy is properly set up, you can even raise the price, or at least not lower, arguing that "our new super-plastics, green, blue, red ...!".
